An IndiGo flight en route to Hyderabad from Kuwait made an emergency landing in Mumbai on Tuesday after the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) received an email warning of a planned attack using remote-controlled explosive devices once the aircraft landed in Hyderabad, PTI reported citing the police.

Following the threat, authorities diverted the aircraft to Mumbai, where it landed safely, according to officials.

Security teams conducted a thorough check of the aircraft, but nothing suspicious was found.

Police said further investigation is underway.
