An IndiGo flight travelling from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad on Friday morning after a bomb threat was reported on board, airport officials said, according to a PTI report. The aircraft landed safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 6.40 am with 180 passengers.

Airport authorities said the diversion was carried out as a precaution after a passenger found a handwritten note claiming there was a bomb inside the aircraft. The pilot informed air traffic control after being alerted about the threat, following which the flight was redirected to Ahmedabad.

All passengers were safely evacuated after the aircraft landed. Security personnel and airport staff conducted a detailed inspection of the aircraft. "So far, no suspicious object has been recovered. The flight may take off after getting a final go-ahead," an airport official said, as quoted by PTI.

In a statement, IndiGo said its flight 6E 1232 operating from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after a security threat was noticed on board. The airline said authorities were informed immediately and all required protocols were followed.

The airline added that the aircraft was cleared after completing all checks and the flight is expected to depart shortly.
