In a fresh advisory, the Embassy said, "Indian nationals are advised to continue to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran until further notice."
The mission also urged Indian citizens currently residing in Iran, as well as those who may have to travel to the country for unavoidable official or functional reasons, to exercise heightened caution.
"Indian citizens presently residing in Iran, as well as those who may be required to travel to Iran for unavoidable functional reasons, are advised to exercise a high degree of caution, remain vigilant at all times, and maintain constant situational awareness," the Embassy said.
It further advised Indian nationals to closely follow local developments through credible sources of information and comply with all instructions issued by local authorities.
The Embassy also asked all Indian citizens currently in Iran, as well as those arriving in the country, to register with the mission at the earliest opportunity. It urged nationals to regularly monitor the Embassy's official website and social media platforms for updates and any further advisories.
