The October 10 attack on Riyadh airport killed 12 people and injured more than 300. At least 11 Indian nationals were initially reported injured. The Indian Embassy had earlier said that three injured Indians were in the ICU but stable, while two were receiving treatment in general hospital wards. The first Indian national killed in the attack was identified as Mohammed Yousuf Ali, a 46-year-old IT professional from Hyderabad, who was travelling for Umrah with his wife and three children. His family members were also injured. His funeral was held in Riyadh on October 12. With the latest death, the number of Indian nationals killed in the attack has risen to two.
Saudi Arabia blamed Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels for the October 10 attack, although the group did not officially claim responsibility. Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation initially reported 12 fatalities and 309 injuries in the attack.
The latest death takes the number of Indian nationals killed in the attack to two. The embassy said it would extend all possible assistance to the bereaved family and help with the arrangements, according to its decision.
