Indian Embassy in Lebanon issues advisory for nationals as Middle-East tensions rise
The Embassy of India in Beirut on Sunday issued an advisory urging Indian nationals in Lebanon to exercise caution amid the deteriorating regional security situation.

“In view of the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant and observe locally advised safety and emergency procedures,” the mission said.

The embassy also shared emergency contact details for assistance, stating that Indians in Lebanon may reach officials on +96176860128 or via email at cons.beirut@mea.gov.in.

The advisory comes as tensions surge across the Middle East following large-scale military strikes involving Israel, Iran and the United States, raising fears of a wider regional spillover.

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during coordinated US and Israeli airstrikes, Iranian state media confirmed early Sunday, triggering a period of national mourning and sharp warnings of retaliation from Tehran.

Several countries have issued travel alerts or security advisories for their citizens in the region, while airlines have suspended or rerouted flights due to airspace risks.
