India calls Fujairah attack ‘unacceptable’, seeks immediate end to hostilities

India has condemned the attack in Fujairah that injured three Indian nationals, calling it “unacceptable” and urging an immediate halt to hostilities. The statement was issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on May 5.

The government said the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent people must stop. It stressed the need to restore peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy.

Calls for safe navigation in Strait of Hormuz

India also raised concerns over maritime safety, calling for free and unhindered navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz in line with international law.


“The attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is unacceptable. We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians. India continues to stand for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with the situation, so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia. We also call for free and unhindered navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz in keeping with international law. India stands ready to support all efforts for a peaceful resolution of issues,” the statement said.
