The victim, identified as Kapil from Barah Kalan village, was working as a security guard when the incident took place. According to village sarpanch Suresh Kumar Gautam, Kapil confronted the accused for urinating outside the premises. In retaliation, the man shot him dead on the spot.
Kapil, the only son in his farming family, had moved to the United States in 2022. Relatives said he travelled through the “donkey route,” crossing the Panama jungles and scaling the Mexico border wall. The journey reportedly cost his family around ₹45 lakh.
After being arrested upon entry, he was released through legal proceedings and had since been working and living in the US.
His family was informed of his death by a relative residing in the US. “The entire village stands with the family,” said sarpanch Gautam, TOI reported. He added that the family will approach the deputy commissioner to seek assistance in bringing Kapil’s body back to India. “We hope for the government's full support,” he said.
