@GuwahatiAirport (X): IndiGo has launched direct flights between Guwahati and Bangkok, strengthening international air connectivity between Northeast India and Southeast Asia. Regular services will begin on October 31.
IndiGo operates the service from Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati, which is managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited. The inaugural flight, 6E 1085, departed from Guwahati at 6.15 pm on Tuesday and was scheduled to arrive in Bangkok at 10.45 pm local time.
The return flight, 6E 1086, is scheduled to depart from Bangkok at 8.50 am and arrive in Guwahati at 10.25 am on Wednesday.
According to airport authorities, regular operations on the route will begin on October 31, with flights running every Wednesday and Saturday in both directions.
Guwahati expands international connectivity
With the addition of Bangkok, Guwahati airport is now connected to five international and 24 domestic destinations, further expanding travel options for passengers from Assam and other parts of Northeast India.
The direct connection is expected to reduce the need for passengers to travel through other airports to reach Bangkok, offering a more convenient option for tourism and business travel.

The route is also expected to support tourism, trade and cultural exchanges between Assam and Thailand. For travellers from Northeast India, Bangkok provides access to Thailand's tourism destinations and onward travel opportunities across Southeast Asia. The service could also make it easier for Thai visitors to travel to Assam and explore destinations across the Northeast.
The launch comes as Guwahati airport continues to develop its infrastructure and role as an international gateway for Northeast India. The airport's newly developed Terminal 2, whose design draws inspiration from bamboo, has been featured on the Prix Versailles World's Most Beautiful Airports List 2026.
The terminal's architectural design reflects the region's cultural identity, with bamboo serving as its central inspiration. The new Guwahati-Bangkok service adds to the airport's international network and provides another direct travel option for passengers connecting Northeast India with Southeast Asia.
