Global Passport Index: India regains lost points, rises three spots in Henley's rankings of most powerful passports
India has ascended to the 82nd position on the Henley Passport Index, up from 85th in February. The index, updated monthly, reveals that six countries share the top spot, granting their citizens visa-free access to a record number of destinations....

Six countries still jointly hold the top position in the 2024 Henley Passport Index, offering their citizens visa-free access to a record-breaking number of destinations.
The most powerful passports in the world now allow citizens of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and Singapore to travel 194 out of 227 destinations worldwide without requiring a visa, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
India has improved three places from being 85th in February to 82nd in the March rankings, having visa-free access to 62 destinations. Last year, countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand and Kenya added India to their visa-free lists.
Other neighbours of India were ranked as follows: China (62), Bhutan (85), Bangladesh (101), Sri Lanka (99), Myanmar (95), Maldives (57), and Nepal (103).
