Actor Dean Cain, known for his role as Superman in the 1990s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, said he will be “sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.” Cain made the announcement during an appearance on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime, expressing support for President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement plans.

Cain stated he had posted a recruitment video on Instagram urging others to join Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following which he was contacted by the agency. “I put out a recruitment video yesterday — I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer — I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain said. “So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”

The agency has launched a hiring campaign after receiving funding through a congressional spending bill earlier this summer that allows for 10,000 new hires. Cain, in his video, encouraged former law enforcement officers and ICE personnel to consider joining the agency. “I’m stepping up,” he said. “Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country.”

When asked about his motivation, Cain said, “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing.”

He added, “We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for, and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.”

Cain’s comments come as the Trump administration faces criticism over its stepped-up immigration raids, with protests breaking out in multiple cities. Civil rights groups and state leaders, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, have raised concerns over the scope of federal enforcement powers. Earlier this summer, the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles by the Trump administration also led to legal disputes over state versus federal authority.
