Airlines across the Middle East have cancelled hundreds of flights after the escalating conflict in Iran forced airport shutdowns and triggered widespread airspace disruption, throwing global aviation schedules into turmoil.
Major Gulf hubs suspend operations
Airport closures have amplified the disruption. Dubai International Airport and Hamad International Airport, both major global transit hubs, suspended all flight operations, making them the hardest-hit airports, according to FlightAware data.Dubai’s main airport, the home base of Emirates, recorded more than 600 departing flight cancellations.
Other regional airports impacted by the conflict include Ben Gurion International Airport and King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The cascading cancellations underscore the scale of disruption spreading across one of the world’s busiest aviation corridors, with ripple effects expected on long-haul routes linking Asia, Europe and North America.
