Paris: The Eiffel Tower will close early on weekend as France faces its third heatwave since May, with Paris placed under the highest weather alert for extreme temperatures.

The monument's operator said the Eiffel Tower would exceptionally close at 4 pm local time on both days because of the forecast heat. Last entry will be at 12:15 pm, while visitors to the restaurants will be admitted until 1:30 pm.

According to the Eiffel Tower's official website, visitors holding tickets for visits from 12 pm for the stairs and 12:30 pm for the elevators will receive automatic refunds, and those affected have been asked to check their email for further details.
