Dubai flight disruptions hit India-bound services, multiple flights cancelled

Passengers travelling between India and the UAE faced flight cancellations and lengthy delays on Wednesday, September 23, with some SpiceJet services to Indian cities delayed by several hours, reported Gulf News.

SpiceJet flight SG5153 from Dubai to Kozhikode, scheduled to depart at noon, was listed with a revised departure time of 8.25 pm. Flight SG5117 to Kochi was delayed from 3.40 pm to 11.55 pm.

The flight information also listed cancellations of SpiceJet services to Kozhikode, Jaipur and Delhi. SG5153 to Kozhikode and SG5106 to Delhi appeared in both cancellation and delay listings, making it important for passengers to verify their flight status before leaving for the airport.

Inbound services were also affected. SpiceJet flight SG5118 from Kochi, scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 3.15 am, was delayed until 11.47 am. Flight SG5060 from Mumbai was pushed back from 11 am to 7.25 pm.

Other flights affected across the UAE

Disruptions also affected services between Dubai and several international destinations, including Tehran, Muscat, Riyadh and European cities.

At Dubai World Central, flight TBZ6608 to Tehran, scheduled to depart at noon, was cancelled. Its inbound service, TBZ6607 from Tehran, was also listed as cancelled.

At Abu Dhabi, Oman Air flight WY636 to Muscat was cancelled. The airline's inbound service WY635 from Muscat was also affected. Other disrupted services included flights to Cairo, Riyadh, Kathmandu and Tbilisi.
