Dubai Airport under water: Fliers in a soup as these Indian airlines halt operations
Air India and IndiGo halted Dubai Airport operations due to historic rainfall, causing delays. Passengers advised to monitor flight status and contact staff for help. Emirates Airlines also affected by adverse weather, impacting flight operations.
The airlines acknowledged the frustration caused by delays and expressed apologies for any inconvenience experienced by travelers. They assured passengers that efforts are underway to ensure a swift departure. For immediate assistance, passengers have been asked to contact ground staff and track flight status before leaving for the airport.

An Air India spokesperson said that the airline is offering a one-time date change waiver to passengers with valid tickets on 16 and 17 April which will enable them to reschedule their flights.
“Due to the impact of adverse weather in Dubai on 16 April, we have had to cancel our flights to and from Dubai on 16 and 17 April. We are doing our best to get affected passengers on their way as soon as possible by re-accommodating them on flights in the next few days. We are also offering a one-time date change waiver to passengers with valid tickets on 16 and 17 April, allowing them to reschedule their flights to future dates within the validity of the tickets,” the spokesperson said.
"We're sorry for the inconvenience caused. As checked, flight AI934 is cancelled due to bad weather at Dubai airport. Our team is working diligently to minimize the inconvenience caused.," Air India said.
Dubai's national carrier Emirates Airlines too has informed passengers about the disruption of flight operations in several cities due to adverse weather conditions. The affected areas include Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat. Passengers have been advised to stay updated on their flight status before heading to the airport.

United Arab Emirates-listed carrier AirArabia has said check-in for flights from and to Sharjah International Airport will be suspended until 02:00 am April 18 due to impact of severe weather conditions in UAE.
