Air India flight from Dammam-Delhi makes emergency landing in Ahmedabad after bomb threat on tissue

A Dammam-Delhi Air India flight made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport after a tissue paper with the word "bomb" written on it was found by a crew member in the lavatory on Monday, according to Ahmedabad Police officials.

The flight had 32 passengers onboard and all of them were safely deboarded at Terminal 2.

Security agencies thoroughly checked the aircraft and found nothing suspicious, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 'G' Division, VN Yadav told PTI.


Dammam is the capital and largest city of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.

Following the bomb threat incident, Air India Express issued an official statement, saying, “One of our flights from Dammam to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedbadad as a precaution and in keeping with security protocols after being notified of a specific bomb threat."

"The government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was alerted immediately, and all security procedures promptly initiated. The flight landed and all guests have been disembarked safely. The aircraft will be released for operations after necessary security checks are completed,” an Air India Express spokesperson said.
