Sri Lanka has introduced emergency measures to support tourists affected by Cyclone Ditwah, offering free visa extensions and flexible airline policies as the country continues to manage severe weather disruption.

According to the announcement by the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission, visitors whose visas expired during the cyclone period will receive extensions at no cost and without penalties. Airlines have also agreed to waive cancellation and date-change fees, allowing travellers to rebook without extra charges.

A self-declaration stating that a traveller was impacted by the cyclone is enough to access these benefits. Authorities are advising tourists to remain cautious and follow official alerts as weather conditions evolve.

Visitors currently in Sri Lanka can seek assistance through the government helpline 1912.
