At least 44 flights will be cancelled at Belgium's Charleroi airport on Wednesday and Thursday due to a strike among air traffic control workers
The strike is set to kick off 24 consecutive nighttime strikes by employees of civil air traffic control company Skeyes until October 10, as unions demand additional pay nighttime shifts.

Skeyes said this could affect around 830 flights during this period.
Charleroi airport is closed for air traffic overnight, but air traffic controllers perform other tasks during that time to prepare for flights on the following day.

A spokesperson for Skeyes said the company was willing to resume negotiations.
