The Centre has added the Adani Group-promoted airport to the list of airports notified as designated immigration posts in September last year, according to a gazette notification issued Monday.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to start international operations from the greenfield facility from July 15, a top official had said earlier this month.

Along with international passenger flights, the airport will also commence international freighter operations, he had said.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport, the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, commenced domestic flight services in December last year. It handles around 20,000 passengers per day with 150 departures and arrivals.
The airport is expecting daily passenger footfall to surge to 50,000 by the year-end, and 380 air traffic movements (arrivals and departures) per day.
