New Delhi, The Union Home Ministry has designated Navi Mumbai airport as the 38th immigration post for entry into and exit from India under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.

The Centre has added the Adani Group-promoted airport to the list of airports notified as designated immigration posts in September last year, according to a gazette notification issued Monday.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to start international operations from the greenfield facility from July 15, a top official had said earlier this month.

Along with international passenger flights, the airport will also commence international freighter operations, he had said.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport, the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, commenced domestic flight services in December last year. It handles around 20,000 passengers per day with 150 departures and arrivals.
