Air India dismisses claims of flying over restricted Middle East airspace
Air India has refuted social media claims of its aircraft flying over restricted Middle Eastern airspace, labeling the reports as "fake news." The airline stated its routes are meticulously planned with real-time intelligence and global advisories...

In a statement, the airline described the reports as “fake news” and said the claims do not reflect its actual flight operations or safety protocols.
“Air India does not operate flights over any restricted airspace,” the airline said, adding that its routes are planned using real-time intelligence, global aviation advisories and continuous monitoring.
The airline said operational decisions are taken with a focus on ensuring that every journey remains safe, compliant and reliable.
Air India also emphasised that safety considerations remain its top priority, particularly at a time when several airlines have adjusted routes due to airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East.
The clarification comes as multiple carriers have been revising flight paths and suspending services in the region following heightened geopolitical tensions and temporary airspace closures.
