In a travel advisory posted on X, the airline said airport operations at New York and Newark were affected due to a blizzard that brought heavy snowfall. As a result, flights operating on the route for February 24 have been called off.
“Airport operations at New York and Newark have been affected due to the blizzard, resulting in heavy snowfall. In view of the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew, Air India flights to and from New York and Newark have been cancelled on 24 February,” the airline said.
Support for passengers
The airline said its ground teams will assist passengers who were scheduled to travel on the affected date.“Our teams on the ground will be extending support and assistance to all of you who are booked to fly with us on this date,” according to the statement.
Passengers travelling to or from the affected airports have been advised to stay in touch with the airline for the latest updates on rescheduling and further travel arrangements.
