Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) can now enjoy a significantly faster money transfer process to India compared to traditional wire transfer methods.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has now extended UPI services to NRIs who hold Non-Resident External (NRE) or Non-Resident External (NRO) accounts.

This expansion enables NRIs to perform instant transactions from their smartphones through UPI linked to their international mobile numbers.

  1. Link your international mobile number with your bank account.
  2. Download a UPI-powered application that supports international mobile numbers and complete the onboarding process.
