After China successfully insisted that India could not become a member of the Nuclear Suppliers' Group unless it becomes a signatory to the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty; PM Modi successfully raised China's non-cooperation in this matter in the media. As a result, India has put this experience behind and Chinese media is trying to assuage its southern neighbour citing nations other than China who had opposed India's entry.
