Provide Bright, Indirect Light

Jade plants thrive in bright, indirect sunlight. Place them near a window with plenty of light but avoid harsh direct afternoon sun that can scorch their leaves.

Water Sparingly

Allow the soil to dry out between watering. Overwatering causes root rot. Water thoroughly but infrequently—usually once every 2-3 weeks, less in winter.

Use Well-Draining Soil

Use a succulent or cactus mix that drains well. Good drainage prevents waterlogging and root rot, keeping your jade plant healthy.

Maintain Moderate Temperature

Jade plants prefer temperatures between 65–75°F (18–24°C). Avoid exposing them to frost or sudden temperature drops.

Fertilise occasionally

Feed your jade plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser diluted to half strength, about once a month during spring and summer.

Prune to Encourage Growth

Trim leggy or overgrown branches to promote bushier growth and maintain shape. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears.

Repot When Necessary

Every 2-3 years or when roots outgrow the pot. Use fresh soil and a slightly larger container to support healthy growth.

Watch for Pests

Keep an eye out for pests like mealybugs or spider mites. Wipe leaves regularly and treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.
