‘Women’s sports only for biological females!’: SCOTUS clears way for transgender athlete ban

The US Supreme Court has issued a major ruling allowing states to exclude transgender women from female sports, a decision expected to reshape sports policy across the country. The ruling came from cases involving Idaho and West Virginia laws that restricted transgender participation in girls’ and women’s athletics. The Supreme Court ruled that these restrictions do not violate Title IX, the federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in education. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote that states may maintain women’s sports for biological females.
