Why India could lead next neurotechnology revolution: Alexander Panov explains

At ET WLF 2026, Alexander Panov, Founder & CEO of Neiry, outlined his vision for the next frontier of technology: neuroscience and human augmentation. Panov argued that neurotechnology must be developed to make humans “creators, not consumers”, while warning against a future where brain-computer interfaces simply turn people into “super consumers.” He discussed brain-AI interfaces, artificial intuition, brain stimulation and the ethical questions surrounding technologies that could enhance human intelligence. He also announced a major India-focused investment push, with a new neuroscience fund planning to invest more than ₹10,000 crore ($1 billion) in Indian neurotechnology startups, scientific teams and laboratories.
