US launches new round of airstrikes against Iran; Trump shares pictures and videos

The US has launched more strikes against Iran “to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” US Central Command said Wednesday. The latest US strikes began hours after US President Donald Trump said that recent Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz signalled the end of the fragile ceasefire. On Wednesday (July 8), Iran launched attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait over an earlier round of US airstrikes against Iran. President Trump said the latest strikes were carried out in retaliation for what he described as Iran’s bombing of ships a day earlier. “If it happens again, it will get much worse!” Trump wrote on social media.
