Poll panel axe falls on Kolkata top cop Kumar
The Election Commission removed Rajeev Kumar from the post of Kolkata commissioner of police after a mere 10 weeks of his appointment, replacing him with Soumen Mitra. A year senior to Kumar, Mitra was overlooked by the Trinamool government when it appointed Kumar on January 29.
