'No pressure of last over, just friendship': Modi, Albanese lay out sports roadmap; BBL in Chennai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), where they unveiled the India-Australia Sports Collaboration Roadmap to strengthen cooperation in sports training, sports science, technology, investment and major sporting events. PM Modi welcomed Chennai hosting the opening match of the 2026–27 Big Bash League season, saying, “If you play in India, you get huge TV viewers and fans,” and highlighted India’s ambition to host the 2036 Olympics.
