'India warned us, we didn't listen': Belgian PM Bart De Wever on US, China dependency

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever has called for deeper India-Europe cooperation, warning that economic dependencies can be weaponised and urging both sides to build more resilient supply chains. Speaking at a CII event in New Delhi, De Wever said Europe had failed to heed India's earlier warnings about strategic dependencies and said Belgium and the European Union now see India as a key partner in reducing dependence on China. He backed the India-EU Free Trade Agreement as a foundation for stronger trade and cooperation across critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, green energy, technology, defence and maritime security.
