Congress demands Supreme Court-monitored probe into alleged Ram Temple donation row

The Congress on Friday (June 26, 2026) demanded a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the allegations of the embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Rajeev Shukla said, "Temple cells have been created. What are these, these temple cells within a political party? We've heard of other cells, like for students, education cells, right? And then there are Dalit cells and OBC cells. Those we've heard of, but what is a temple cell? This means it's part of a big plan: take control of the trusts of major temples, infiltrate your people there, then extract donations from them and bring that money back to use for your political purposes..."
