KARACHI: Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah has been ruled out of the ODI series against Bangladesh with a hand injury, which he sustained during the one-day practice match against the Bangladesh Board Presidents XI.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Yasir had injured his left hand while fielding yesterday and required three stitches.

"He is out of the one-day series and a replacement for him will be finalised today. But in all probability it should be left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar, who is already named in the Test squad," chief selector Haroon Rasheed said.

Rasheed said that the replacement would be finalised after deliberations with the team management and approval from the board chairman.

"But whoever goes is unlikely to feature in the first match on April 17th," he added.

Pakistan also lost fast bowler Sohail Khan due to a back injury prior to the team's departure for Bangladesh last week. He was replaced by left arm pacer Junaid Khan, who took four wickets in the practice tour match yesterday.
