Wrestler Nisha Dahiya rubbishes ‘shot dead’ reports; says 'I am fine'

Moments after agencies reported that National level wrestler Nisha Dahiya and her brother were shot dead at Sushil Kumar Wrestling Academy in Sonepat's Halalpur in Haryana, the wrestler has rubbished the claims and confirned that she is 'fine and healthy'.

On Friday, Nisha Dahiya bagged a bronze medal in 65 kg at Wrestling U-23 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. PM Narendra Modi also praised her along with other women wrestlers for their breakthrough performance. PM Narendra Modi had lauded her achievement along with others on Twitter.



“Hello, my name is Nisha. I have come to play senior nationals (tournament) in Gonda, and I am totally fine. And it (the news of her death) is fake news. I am totally fine.”

The clarification:
“This Nisha Dahiya (shot dead) and medalist wrestler Nisha Dahiya are two different people. The medalist wrestler belongs to Panipat and is at an event now,” Sonipat superintendent of Police Rahul Sharma said to ANI.
