NELSON: Ireland stunned West Indies by 4 wickets in their opening match of the cricket World Cup at Saxton Oval, here today.

Chasing 305 for a win, the William Porterfield-led side rode on gutsy fifties from Paul Stirling (92), Ed Joyce (84) and Niall O'Brien (79 not out) to achieve its target in 45.5 overs.
