New Zealand Women vs Australia Women Pitch Report Indore Weather Update

Australia will begin their title defence of the ICC Women ODI World Cup when the take on New Zealand in Indore on Wednesday.

Australia received a big blow prior to the tournament as Grace Harris was ruled out due to a calf strain. However, left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux and leg-spinner Georgia Wareham are back from injuries, joining Alana King in a dangerous spin attack. The pace department is equally capable with Megan Schutt, Ellyse Perry, Tahlia McGrath, and Darcie Brown making a case for selection.

The batting department also looks dangerous and is led by Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner, and Phoebe Litchfield.


The Sophie Devine-led New Zealand team are the current T20 world champions, and will be hoping for another title within a year. Their last ODI World Cup triumph was in 2000. However, they cannot be taken lightly as they combine the experience of Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, and Lea Tahuhu with the promise of youngsters like Georgia Plimmer and Izzy Gaze.
