The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled for February to March 2025 in Pakistan.
Since a bilateral series in 2012-2013, India-Pakistan cricket has been limited to ICC tournaments and Asia Cup matches.
"In the case of the Champion Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India will tell us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission. So we will go according to the decision of the Indian government," Shukla told ANI.
Pakistan previously hosted the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka due to India's absence. The PCB plans to hold all India matches in Lahore for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
This move seeks to streamline logistical challenges and facilitate easier access for Indian fans, with Lahore's proximity to the Wagah border enhancing travel convenience.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi disclosed that a draft schedule for the tournament, tentatively set for mid-February next year, has been forwarded to the ICC. However, the decision on India's participation remains a pivotal aspect awaiting resolution in forthcoming discussions among the participating nations.
Discussions on the tournament's draft schedule are ongoing, with India's potential participation a key point.
