Watch: Riyan Parag smashes 5 sixes in an over against KKR, damages Tata Curvv

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag smashed five sixes in an over against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. The youngster took on Moeen Ali in the 13th over when the match seemed to be drifting away from his team's grasp.

After getting the strike on the second ball, the 23-year-old clubbed the first ball over square leg for a six to bring up his half century. He followed it up with another maximum over long on against a shortish ball. The next ball was dispatched over square leg once again as the bowler drifted down the leg line. The fourth ball was powered with a flat bat over long on, which also damaged the Tata Curvv, that was on display at the stadium. He finished the over with six over long off against a wider delivery. RR scored 32 runs in the over, including a wide and were 134/5 after 13 overs. He scored another six off the first ball he faced, making it six in a row for the batter.

The middle-order batter ended with 95 off 45 balls, including six fours and eight sixes.



Parag's innings eased the pressure as RR is set a target of 207 runs. Earlier, Andre Russell displayed his power and smashed an unbeaten 57 off just 25 balls, including four fours and six sixes.

The RR captain also bowled an economical spell of 1/21 in three overs, picking up an important wicket of KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, who was looking dangerous.

An old post on X from the allrounder has gone viral, where he claimed he would hit four consecutive sixes in the 2023 season.
