Watch: RCB spinner Suyash Sharma's 'my ground' celebration against PBKS

Royal Challengers Bengaluru spinner Suyash Sharma celebrated his wicket of Shashank Singh during the IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on Thursday with a statement.

In the ninth over, Sharma clean bowled Shashank Singh with a googly and pointed towards the ground, saying this was his ground.



Sharma got another wicket in the same over as he removed debutant Musheer Khan, who had come in as an impact sub for the PBKS, for a duck. The 22-year-old spinner went on to take another wicket as he castled Marcus Stoinis after the Australian had added 28 runs to the Punjab scoreboard. He also won the Player of the Match award for his effort.

RCB skipper Rajat Patidar who the toss and opted to put Punjab to bat and had early success as pacer Yash Dayal removed PBKS opener Priyansh Arya for nine runs before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Prabhsimran Singh for 18 off 10.

Star seamer Josh Hazlewood deepened PBKS' wounds on the day with the three wickets, including that of skipper Shreyas Iyer and compatriot Josh Inglis for two and eight runs respectively as Punjab’s fans looked on in horror.

Punjab were eventually bowled out for a paltry 101 runs in 14.1 overs as Shreyas Iyer and Co, who finished atop the table in the group, succumbed to the playoff pressure.

RCB came out all guns blazing with the bat and made easy work of the chase with a thumping win with eight wickets and 60 balls to spare. Phil Salt remained unbeaten on 56 runs off just 27 balls.
