NEW DELHI: Team India may have lost the final One Day International(ODI) against England in a nail-biting finish by just 5 runs . It was Virat Kohli's first loss since he took the role of full time skipper of Team India.

However , Virat's habit of creating new records continued even in the inconsequential third ODI. Virat Kohli's knock of 55 runs yesterday made him the fastest batsman to score first 1000 runs as ODI skipper both, achieved in 17 innings.

He broke the earlier record set by South Africa's AB deVilliers which was achieved in 18 innings. Virat also created another record as he broke Sourav Ganguly's record of reaching 1000 runs in 22 innings.

He is the seventh Indian batsman to reach this landmark. Before Kohli the other Indian ODI skippers who achieved this feat are Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Azharuddin and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
