Chopped hair, an IV drip in one hand and a smile on her face; Vinesh Phogat's first picture from the Paris Olympics village clinic surfaced on social media on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old can be seen with IOA president PT Usha by her bedside. The IOA president after meeting Phogat said, "I am shocked and disappointed. I had come here to meet Vinesh, she is physically and medically okay. Yes, mentally she is disappointed. Our support staffs are all with her to reduce the weight, they are trying their best."

Phogat was earlier admitted to the Games Village polyclinic due to dehydration, following a heartbreaking setback of disqualification from the women's 50kg wrestling final event at the Paris Olympics. She was found overweight by 100 grams on day two of the weigh-in and resultantly disqualified.

How did Vinesh Phogat end up being 'overweight'?
Dr. Dinshaw Paudiwala, Chief Medical Officer of the Indian Contingent at the Paris Olympics said the issue began with the athlete's usual dietary regimen.

"Vinesh's nutritionist felt that the usual amount she takes is 1.5 kg totally over the day gives enough energy for the bouts. However, after three intense matches, there was a concern of rebound weight gain following the competition. To prevent dehydration, some water was administered," Dr. Paudiwala explained.

Dr. Paudiwala elaborated on the efforts made to address the weight issue, "Her post-participation weight at the end of the semi-finals in the evening was found to be 2.7 kg more than the allowed weight. The team and the coach started their usual process, which includes limitation of water and food intake, along with intense sweating methods."

Following her disqualification, Vinesh was given intravenous fluids as a precaution to avoid dehydration.
