Vijender has been training in Manchester under Lee Beard for the past month and is even confident of a winning start in the circuit. "It's altogether a different beginning of my life. I am excited for the debut day and I am in shape," Vijender said.
It, though, hasn't been easy for the 29-year-old. "Professional training is really hard but I love to do hard things in my life. I was an amateur boxer, now I am turning pro so everything has changed slowly but I am hardworking so I can do it."
"I am learning new techniques everyday from boxers whom I follow. I see them and how they use different techniques so I just watch and learn from them," Vijender added.
He is also hoping for support in the crowd though he's fighting away from home. The Olympic bronze medallist has been connecting with Indians living in Manchester.
"They ask me about the date of my debut fight," he said. "They are excited to see me in the professional ring and they told me they'll come to see me fight. I am sure the Indian community will turn up in large numbers at the Manchester Arena to cheer me on October 10."
