Novak Djokovic extended his unbeaten record against Taylor Fritz to 11-0 after registering a compressive 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 victory in the US Open quarterfinal.

Djokovic has now reached a record 53rd Grand Slam semifinal, a total that includes a record-tying 14 at Flushing Meadows.

The draught for a US male champion at the tournament since Andy Roddick's 2003 success continues following the No. 4 seeded Fritz's exit.

Djokovic will now face five-time major winner Carlos Alcaraz on Friday. The Spain star has not dropped a set in the tournament. He won 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 No. 20 Jiri Lehecka earlier on Tuesday.

Djokovic has a superior head-to-head record of 5-3 against Alcaraz, winning their two most recent matchups, which came in the Australian Open quarterfinals this January and in the final at the Paris Olympics last year, when the Serbian finally fulfilled his wish to win a gold medal for his country.

The last two men’s quarterfinals are on Wednesday, where Alex de Minaur will take on Felix Auger-Aliassime, whole and defending champion Jannik Sinner will be challenged by Lorenzo Musetti.
