UP government and SAI step up to help Indian shooter
The young shooter who stands fourth in the national rankings was not given financial support from the government earlier as assistance is provided to the top three athletes.

19-year-old Singh is one of the six shooters shortlisted and will represent India in the 50m rifle prone event.
Yogi Adityanath on Friday has asked the Meerut District Magistrate to arrange for the conveyance and also approved Rs. 4.5 lakhs funds for Priya from the state government. "As soon as I came to know about it, I instantly approved an amount of Rs 4.5 lakh to be provided to her by state government," said Yogi Adityanath.
Director General of Sports authority of India, Neelam Kapur, too has tweeted in support of the young shooter assuring her all the facilities. "Priya is part of the national camps fully funded by the Govt and is at 4th position in the country. She will be provided all facilities to help her improve her scores and make it to the Indian Team."
Selected as part of the Indian shooters camp scheduled to visit Germany later this month for the ISSF Junior World Cup, Priya will leave for Germany later this month. Daughter of Brijpal Singh a labourer was facing a tough time gathering finances to travel and arrange accommodation outside India. ANI quoted Priya's father saying, "I have sold my buffalo, have taken loans from friends and I will send her to Germany at any cost."
