'Tu na Sudhri, Bas Chakke Maari Jaayi': Yuvraj Singh's old video on Abhishek Sharma goes viral after epic 135 T20I record

Abhishek Sharma scored a record-breaking 135 runs for India against England in the fifth T20I at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. His score is the highest by an Indian in T20I cricket. He reached his century in just 37 balls, the second-fastest by an Indian in the format. Sharma hit 13 sixes, the most by an Indian in T20Is, and seven fours.

India set a massive target of 247/9 after being put in to bat first. They won the match by 150 runs, their largest margin of victory against England. Sharma's 50 came in 17 balls, the second-fastest for India after Yuvraj Singh's 12-ball half-century against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Sharma’s mentor, Yuvraj Singh, praised him on social media: “Well played @IamAbhiSharma4! That’s where I want to see you! ? Proud of you ???”


Yuvraj has mentored Sharma for much of his career. He arranged joint training sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic for Sharma and other young Punjab cricketers. Yuvraj regularly provides feedback on Sharma's batting and net sessions. After Abhishek Sharma's record-breaking inning, Yuvraj Singh's old video went viral.



This is not the first time Yuvraj has publicly commented on Sharma’s performance. He has offered both praise and constructive criticism in the past. After the first T20I, where Sharma scored 79 runs off 34 balls, Yuvraj commented: “Good start to the series boys ! great tone set by our bowlers and well played sir !@IamAbhiSharma4 top knock ‘!! I’m impressed you hit 2 boundaries down the ground as well.”

India won the series 4-1 after winning the previous match.
