Three persons arrested on cahrges of IPL betting in Haryana

The accused, identified as Vinod and Gurbachan Singh, and Suresh, were arrested late last night, a police spokesperson said today.

CHANDIGARH: Three persons, allegedly involved in betting on the Indian Premier League ( IPL) match between Mumbai and Bangalore, have been arrested by Haryana Police from Ellenabad in Sirsa district.

The accused, identified as Vinod and Gurbachan Singh, both residents of Ellenabad, and Suresh of Talwada Khurd, were arrested late last night, a police spokesperson said today.

After receiving a tip-off, a police team raided a rented accommodation located in ward number 6 in Ellenabad where the accused were betting on the IPL match with the help of mobile phones, the spokesperson said.

The police team has also recovered Rs 1,000 in cash and eight mobile phones from the spot.

A case has been registered against the accused at Ellenabad police station, the spokesperson added.
