Tata Steel to bring Run-a-thon to Bhubaneshwar
Tata Steel is bringing Run-a-thon to Bhubaneshwar, spreading the trend of marathons that in recent years have become quite popular in India’s metros.

Tata Steel will be organising 10-km, 7-km and 5-km runs on February 15. The race offers the winner a reward of Rs 51,000, said Arun Misra, vice president of Tata Steel’s Gopalpur project. The steelmaker held a similar run in Jamshedpur in December and was the title sponsor for the Kolkata Marathon.
There is prize money totaling more than Rs 8 lakh to be won, said company officials at a press conference held to announce the run. Those who want to participate can register their names at counters of the Kalinga Stadium in the state capital or online at tatasteelbhubaneshwarrun.com.
There will be separate categories for individuals, corporates and students. A slight hitch though is that the Run-a-thon coincides with an India Pakistan Cricket Word Cup match that is scheduled for the same day.
