The Paralympic Games in Rio wraps up today. China leads the medal tally with 217 medals, followed by Britain and Ukraine with 126 and 106 medals respectively. India, with 4 medals, is placed at joint 38 with Croatia. Here are some of the records:

Powerlifting 61 kg: Egypt’s Fatma Omar won the silver with a 140 kg lift, breaking WR

100 m Race: Brazil’s Petrucio Ferreira Dos Santos won gold with a timing of 10.57 seconds, breaking the previous record of 10.72 seconds

Swimming: 17-year-old swimmer Fotimakhon Amilova from Uzbekistan clinched the gold in the SB13 100 m breaststroke (female) in 1 min 12.45 seconds, breaking the world record of 1 min 15.96 seconds

Cycling: Britain’s Dame Sarah Storey, born without a functioning left hand, won her 13th Olympic gold, becoming the most successful female Paralympian. She won 20 km road time-trial with a commanding time of 27 min 22.42 seconds



Great Britain’s Steve Bate, who has only 10% field of vision, and his sight pilot Adam Duggleby smashed the record in the B 4,000 m race with a timing of 4 min 8.146 seconds in the track cycling event.
