T20 WC: India to face South Africa, Zimbabwe, West Indies in Super 8
Zimbabwe’s qualification for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026 has locked in India’s opponents for the next round after the Ireland clash in Pallekele was washed out on Tuesday.

With Zimbabwe advancing, India will now face South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe in the Super 8 phase. The schedule will see India open against South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 22. The team will then travel to Chennai to play Zimbabwe before wrapping up the stage in Kolkata against the West Indies.

India confirmed their Super 8 berth earlier after defeating Pakistan by 61 runs in Colombo. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side sits at the top of Group A with three wins from three matches. They have beaten the USA, Namibia and Pakistan so far.

India will conclude their group-stage campaign against the Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

The Netherlands remain in contention only mathematically after losses to Pakistan and the USA. Their sole victory has come against Namibia.

India and the Netherlands have met once in T20 Internationals, during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Sydney, where India secured a win.
