The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India's 15-member squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, to be held in the West Indies and USA from June 1. Rohit Sharma will lead, with Hardik Pandya as deputy. Sanju Samson will support Pant as the second wicketkeeper-batsman.. Pant returns after 16 months post a car crash in 2022. India opted for four spinners - Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal. The pace attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah, features Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube offer seam-bowling options. Sanju Samson secured a spot, while KL Rahul and Rinku Singh missed out.

Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan are named reserves. India's campaign begins against Ireland on June 5 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, followed by a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9. They will also face USA and Canada on June 12 and 15 respectively.

India, placed in Group A with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts USA, aims for a strong start against Ireland before the crucial match against Pakistan.


Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, after a near-fatal crash in December 2022, returned to top form in IPL 2024, securing his spot in India's T20 World Cup squad. Pant's stellar performance, including three fifties and 398 runs in 11 matches, convinced selectors of his readiness. Chennai Super Kings' Shivam Dube, with 350 runs in nine matches, also earned a spot.

Rohit Sharma leads the strong Indian lineup, with Hardik Pandya as vice-captain, alongside stalwarts like Virat Kohli and rising talent Yashasvi Jaiswal.
