The Melbourne Renegades will face the already eliminated Sydney Thunder at Sydney Showground Stadium, with the match holding significant importance for the Renegades as they look to keep their season alive. The Thunder have made changes to their squad, while the Renegades have been strengthened by the return of Adam Zampa.

Sydney Thunder have dropped fast bowler Nathan McAndrew after consecutive expensive outings, conceding over 10 runs per over against the Strikers and 15 an over in the loss to the Hurricanes. Australia Under-19 World Cup winner Charlie Anderson has been included in the squad and is in line to make his Big Bash League debut. Captain David Warner has been named despite a knee knock sustained while scoring 82 off 56 balls against the Heat. The club said Warner would work closely with the medical team over the next 24 hours in a bid to be fit for the Thunder’s final home game.

Melbourne Renegades have welcomed back Australian white-ball spinner Adam Zampa, who has recovered from a neck strain that kept him out of the previous four matches. Spin-bowling allrounder Matthew Spoors has been left out following Zampa’s return. The Renegades will be without Test quick Brendan Doggett due to minor hamstring awareness, with veteran Andrew Tye named as his replacement. Paceman Tom Rogers remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.
