SRH knock LSG out of IPL 2025 with a six-wicket win

Lucknow Super Giants on Monday were knocked out of IPL 2025 following a defeat by runs to Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

The result leaves only Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals to fight for the last available playoff spot as Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings sealed the three spots following GT's win against DC on Sunday.

In today's match, SRH chased down a target of 206 with balls to wickets to spare. The charge was led by opener Abhishek Sharma, who scored 59 runs off 20 balls. The knock also included four sixes in a row against Ravi Bishnoi. Heinrich Klaasen scored 47 runs off 28 balls as he navigated through the middle overs. Ishan Kishan scored 35 runs off 28 balls and Kamindu Mendis chipped in with 32 runs off 21 balls, before he was retired out due to a hamstring injury. He had, however, got the team to safety by the time he walked out.


For LSG, uncapped mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi continued to trouble the batters as he picked up two wickets. None of the other bowlers proved to be effective for the team.

Earlier, LSG had scored 205/7 on the back of openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram's half centuries. The two addd 115 runs for the first wicket. Nicholas Pooran carried the momentum with a quickfire 46 runs.

Eshan Malinga was the pick of the bowlers for SRH with figures of 2/28 in four overs. He also picked up a stunning catch of Rishabh Pant of his own bowling.
